GRI launched Good Practice Note to help companies achieve greater business value through sustainability reporting

The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) announced on June 24 the launch of a publication that aims to make it easier and more profitable for companies in emerging markets to adopt sustainability reporting. Survey finds consumers still spending on environmentally responsible products

The national online survey, conducted for the second consecutive year, uncovered good news for businesses promoting green products or services - the vast majority of consumers are either buying the same or an increased amount of environmentally responsible products. The survey found that two-thirds (67 percent) of U.S. adults who consider themselves buyers of green products have retained their level of green purchases. French grouping for electrical vehicles purchasing by La Poste group

Following the « decarbonated vehicle » national plan, in early 2009, La Poste group's chairman Jean Paul Bailly was tasked with collecting data over the needs of local authorities, the public sector and the private sector. ‘Make A Difference Day’ KPMG in Belgium

KPMGIn May 2010, KPMG in Belgium has organized 12 ‘Make A Difference Day' volunteer projects for its employees, geographically dispersed around the six regional KPMG . The initiative has been adopted in many KPMG member firms all over the world but is new to the Belgian member firms.  The decision to launch ‘MADD' came after an internal survey indicated that a large number of our people were really interested in doing volunteer work." Twelve women scientists recognized across the developing world

The Elsevier Foundation, TWAS and TWOWS announced on June 27 that they are recognizing twelve talented women scientists from Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean for their research excellence. The announcement was made at the Third World Organization for Women in Science (TWOWS) 4th General Assembly and international conference, Women Scientists in a Changing World, hosted by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in Beijing from 27-30 June 2010.
