Bank of America Merrill Lynch supports Prince's Trust in training youth

Doughty Centre's David Grayson blogs on external expert panels

A.I.S.E. welcomes 200th member to Charter for Sustainable Cleaning

The International Association for Soaps, Detergents and Maintenance Products (A.I.S.E.) recently welcomed Vipack BV to the Charter for Sustainable Cleaning.  Vipack BV is a Dutch manufacturer of laundry detergents and cleaners and has become the scheme's 200th member.The manufacturers signed up to the Charter now account for more than 85% of soap, detergent and maintenance products sold in Europe.  The Charter aims to push forward sustainability in all aspects of the industry - from the packaging of the products to the health and safety of workers and consumers… Read more

Coke's coolers empower women and boost business

Coca-Cola"eKoCool" is changing lives across India.  The scheme, ran by Coca-Cola, aims to provide female shopkeepers with solar-powered refrigerators that carry on running two and a half hours after sunset.Retailers in the Indian province of Uttar Pradesh face frequent power cuts and struggle to keep their products fresh.  The solar-powered cooler is an effective, environmentally-friendly solution, which also allows retailers to charge phones for extra cash.  Coca-Cola has focused entirely on women retailers, who gain from the independence of their own earnings… Read more

CSR Europe’s EU Update Call

In the EU update webinar on 14 February 2013, Margaret Wachenfeld from the Institute for Human Rights and Business provided an update on the Human Rights Guidance in different corporate sectors (ICT, oil & gas, recruitment agencies). CSR Europe also explained its current and future activities of the Collaborative Project on Business and Human Rights, including the “Publication and Benchmark Tool on Company Mechanisms for Addressing Complaints”. EU aims to capitalise on growth of emerging markets

The European Commission recently sent representatives to emerging markets in Africa, Latin America and Asia to gain an insight that will benefit Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) back in Europe.  By boosting cooperation in the areas of "industrial innovation, key enabling technologies, tourism, space and access to raw materials", the Commission hopes to provide SMEs with the opportunity to internationalise their businesses more readily.An overview of the project is available from the European Commission's website(Source: European Commission)

IBM and Emerson cooperate to help business growth and save energy

Microsoft invests in renewable energy thanks to internal carbon price
